The treatment you receive is modern, gentle and safe and supported by the best available scientific research. Traditionally chiropractic therapy has mainly consisted of spinal manipulation or adjustment. While this type of therapy is effective for some conditions it is not a ''cure all'' and in fact is contraindicated in a number of spinal and peripheral joint conditions. Drawing on the best evidence, as well as spinal manipulation, Chirofirst provides a wide variety of treatment methods including flexion distraction therapy (for intervertebral disc lesions), soft tissue massage, trigger point therapy, dry needling techniques, ultrasound, interferential, short wave diathermy, micro-current and exercise therapy.
Every chiropractic patient undergoes a comprehensive orthopaedic and neurolgical examination before any treatment is proposed. In most cases Xrays are not required but in some circumstances you may be referred to a medical radiologist where you condition will be further evaluated. Each condition is treated with the appropriate therapeutic intervention designed to restore your health as soon as possible. If your condition is not suitable for chiropractic therapy or you fail to respond after a short trial period of treatment you will be referred to an appropriate health profressional.
In most cases ongoing treatment is not required and that once the therapeutic goal has been achieved patients are discharged from active care and provided with a rehabilitation program, such as exercises, designed to maintain your health and prevent further injury.
